There are still a few people who are concerned about who the new owners of BAMA Chutes are, and we understand the desire to want to know, but the need for us to be able to “clock out” and have anonymity is important so that we can spend time with our families every evening and weekend. We were brainstorming on ways to connect with our customers, and we thought it would be a fun idea to give a “name”, a little background, and a satire style introduction.
So who am I? I am Spruce Wayne, the Nylon Knight. I tend to fight gravity during the days and rest at night. I am passionate about parachutes and fell in love with their function and design while in high school. Seeing the injustice of gravity attacking aerial toys and vehicles, I decided to put on my chute and jump into action to help protect these toys and vehicles.
First thing I did; on the advice of my brother, Bruce (which has absolutely zero affiliation with Batman), was to hide my off-duty identity and be an underground savior of falling objects.
I started my first hobby business, and was one of the first to bring it back to the market in recent years, with designing and building skydiving style, steerable chutes for toys and customers who wanted to play around with smaller versions of what they were using to jump with. This allowed me to link up and join forces with many skydivers, BASE jumpers, designers and passionate people around the world and I knew more could be done.
Between tunnel flying and skydiving, I wanted to expand my knowledge and broaden the markets I was in. I had met the previous owner of BAMA years ago and we had plans to join resources and knowledge, and this past year the opportunity presented for me and my team to get the BAMA torch and start running with it ourselves.
I have a little experience with model rocketry and will be getting my first mid power rocket off the ground soon, so that my team and I can better develop products and provide advice. We have a firm understanding of parachutes and we are gaining more and more knowledge about their use in model rockets every day. We hope to start making more connections in the rocket community, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of flyers on the western slope of Colorado.
This community has welcomed us with open arms for the most part, and we hope to gain the trust and loyalty of others through our commitment to quality and customer service. A few people have expressed an understanding of our position to remain reachable during business hours alone, because we need sleep if we are going to fight gravity every day. For the rest of the community, we ask again for your understanding. Don’t be a Joker.
Our holiday sale has started and most items are on sale. We are pretty excited to get more of our products out to our customers. We are asking that everyone be patient will of fulfilling the orders. We are expecting a lot of orders and will definitely be overwhelmed but we may also run out of some materials, so we have put a goal to have all holiday sale orders out within 3 months of ordering.
It has been a tremendous amount of work getting BAMA up and going for us. I really appreciate how receptive old and new customers have been about the new ownership. We are trying to maintain the BAMA legacy without changing too much, and customers who have ordered and and received their orders have relayed approval in the quality and pricing. We do have some exciting products and events coming up that we would like to share, and since I am not big on social media I decided to start a blog on the BAMA page to connect with customers.
First week of November we will be starting our holiday sales! These sales will be for the entire month of November. We will be offering discounts on almost every product and be releasing our very own version of deployment bags and pilot chutes. There will be some freebees thrown in with certain purchases and we might also run some games with prizes.
For this first post, I would love to get some feedback on products you would like to see, questions you might have, and also thoughts on BAMA's primary means of communication being through this blog and a monthly newsletter that you could sign up for.
I am going to keep this post short, but look out for the announcement on here for the holiday sales.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to read,
Spruce Wayne aka "Head Nylon Ninja" and the BAMA Team
